How it works
RemitMeter provides indicative exchange rate and fee comparisons for informational purposes only. Rates shown may differ from the final rate offered at the time of transfer. We may earn a commission when you complete a transfer through a link on this site, which never affects our ranking.
Our methodology
Why people trust this comparison
- Rates refresh from live mid-market data, not marketing numbers
- Every fee and FX markup is broken out — nothing hidden in the rate
- Affiliate links never change which provider ranks first
Who runs this site
RemitMeter is an independent comparison site, newly launched and not owned by, invested in, or affiliated with any of the providers it compares — Wise, Revolut, Payoneer, OFX, Remitly, WorldRemit, and XE. We don't take sides between them; we built this site because comparing total cost across providers was harder than it should be.
How we make money
RemitMeter earns an affiliate commission when you click through from this site and complete a transfer with one of the providers listed. That's disclosed here and in the footer on every page, and it's the only way we make money — there's no subscription or hidden fee to you. Commission does not influence ranking: the order you see is calculated from each provider's published fees and the live exchange rate, not from which provider pays us more.
How the ranking works
The default view, "Cheapest overall," sorts providers by total cost for the amount you entered: each provider's fixed fee, any percentage fee, and the cash cost of its FX markup against the live mid-market rate, all rolled into how much the recipient actually receives. If speed or rate matters more to you than total cost, switch to "Fastest" (sorted by the provider's stated delivery window) or "Best rate" (sorted by the smallest markup against the mid-market rate). Whichever lens you pick, the sort is driven by the numbers, not by commission — a provider that pays us more does not move up the list.
Where the numbers come from
Exchange rates come from a live mid-market data feed, refreshed roughly every 10 minutes, paired with each provider's published fee structure — fixed fees, percentage fees, FX markup, and delivery windows — to calculate what you'd actually receive. If the live feed is temporarily unavailable, the calculator falls back to a recent indicative snapshot rather than breaking, and says so on screen ("Live rates are temporarily unavailable — showing an indicative snapshot rate") rather than silently showing stale numbers as if they were current.
